11 May (Daily Mail) Birmingham are in a little bit of financial difficulty and will have to offload young keeper Jack Butland, who is reportedly being watched by Arsenal and Man Utd. I don’t see him as a good addition to our squad, especially not as backup to Szczesny. I think we need an experienced #2, not another young keeper. - MJB
11 May (Daily Express) Tottenham have “joined the race” between Arsenal and Man Utd to sign Shinji Kagawa who could be available for around £5million. Sp*rs and Arsenal are also both battling for the signatures of Junior Hoilett and Jan Vertongen. All three players would be fantastic additions to the squad, however Man Utd would probably be the obvious choice for Kagawa (money, first team etc). - MJB
11 May (Mercatot365.fr) A defensive midfielder may not be the only thing Wenger gets on a summer shpping spree set to include France ports of call. Mercato365.fr says Wenger remains enthusiastic about the French transfer market and plans to add a new Ligue Une-based striker to his squad this summer. Montpellier ace Olivier Giroud and Olympique Marseille star Loic Remy are both top of Wenger’s shopping list. Also interesting Wenger is Giroud’s teammate, Younes Belhanda. – DAG
11 May (Tribal Football) Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has cast doubt on signing permanently with loan club Real Sociedad. But Vela is certain that he will leave Arsenal for good. He said: “I have more options. I am not sure Real Sociedad have much budget. They asked if I had a choice to be here and I said ‘yes’. I’m interested because I would not mind staying longer but what happens does not depend on me.” – DAG
11 May (Express) The Express is reporting that Arsenal have joined in on the race to sign Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa. Kagawa’s contract talks have stalled with the German club with United thought to be in the front seat on this deal. The highly-rated player could be had for as little as £5 million. – DAG
9 May (Independent) Italian champions Juventus have expressed an admiration for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie this summer. “Van Persie is a great player,” Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta said to www.calciomercato.com. “He is a complete player and would be useful to any team. But he still has one year left in his contract with Arsenal. ”We will try to put the icing on the cake this summer but the important thing is that the mix is good.” – I don’t see it. If and its a big if – I would say its likely he goes to Madrid or Barcelona. – DAG
9 May (Daily Mail) According to the Mail Arsenal are set to make a play for Swansea back stopper Michael Vorm. With the likelihood of Arsenal shipping out or letting goal 3 back stoppers getting suitable backups will be essential. - Personally don’t see Swansea letting the biggest reason they stayed in the Prem go. Think a Rob Green makes more sense. Emi Martinez from the reserves but he’ll likely go out on loan. – DAG
8 May (Daily Mail) Should the deal for Yann M’Vila fall through, then Arsenal will battle Real Madrid for the signature of Anderlecht captain and Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia. Javi Martinez is also an alternative. – MJB
8 May (Sky Sports) Arsenal target Jan Vertonghen has given a strong indication that Spurs may be the team he eventually plays for. “Tottenham is a fantastic traditional club who play football in a way I like. Ajax was the perfect club for me, but Spurs will be very close in nearing that already. They buy young, eager and offensive-minded players.” However, there are thoughts that should Spurs go lose out on UCL football then he will not go to them. United have also recently joined the chase. - DAG
7 May (YAMA) As we exclusively have reported Arsenal look to have completed the deal for Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila. M’Vila has long been linked to Arsenal and even with his off the field troubles is a steady and solid influence on it. 26 April (Sport Review) Barcelona have denied that they have any interest or intent of signing of Arsenal forward Robin Van Persie. Barcelona club spokesman Toni Freixa denied reports that Spanish giants will move for the Dutchman. - DAG
26 April (Mirror) On loan striker Nik Bendtner is unsure if whether or not he will be back at Sunderland on a full time basis. ”Never say never about Sunderland, but it is not certain that I will be here if the opportunity arises,” he told www.Sporten.tv2.dk. It is being reported that O’Neill has no plans or intentions of keeping a player signed when Steve Bruce was manager. One thing is certain Nicky B does not want to return to Arsenal and his time at the clubs seems to have gone. – DAG
26 April (France Football) Is reporting that Arsenal are in the pole position to sign Rennes midfielder Yann M’Villa. Some reports even suggest that the two clubs are already in advanced discussions over the transfer. The French club are resigned to losing a player that clearly wants to go and is under contract until 2015. For Arsenal to sign him it represents a significant upgrade in having a true DM option in the club. – DAG
23 April 2012 (Kicker) Arsenal have completed the signing of Lukas Podolski for 12million euros, according to reports in Germany. Reports in the German publication Kicker have now claimed the deal has been rubber stamped and the Gunners will pay just under £10million, with the fee set to rise depending on appearances etc. – DAG
23 April 2012 (Mirror) Sunderland reportedly won’t take up the option to sign Nicklas Bendtner on a permanent deal. The Sunday Mirror says Bendtner’s season-long loan from Arsenal ends next month and there will no permanent deal for the Danish striker who is rated at £9million. - Arsenal aren’t keen to keep him either. – DAG
23 April (Le Parisien) Marvin Martin the Souchaux midfielder has told Le Parisien that he has been contacted by three different clubs. Those clubs are, Dortmund, Valencia, and Arsenal. Martin was a constant rumour throughout last summer as the Gunners weighed up additional creative options in the midfield. - DAG
22 April (Vital Football) Arsenal are still reportedly keeping an eye on the situation of Daniel Sturridge at Chelsea. Apparently Arsene Wenger is considering taking the striker to The Emirates and the consensus is that Sturridge may well be susceptible to a move base don the fact that he rarely gets a chance to shine in his preferred position as a central striker. – DAG
22 April (Metro) Arsenal are rumoured to be preparing a move for Fiorentina youngster Adem Ljajic, after it was confirmed that Gunners scouts had watched the winger. Ljajic is considered one of the stars to watch after an impressive season in Florence, showing his versatility by playing in an advanced central position and as a winger. With question marks surrounding the immediate future of the on-loan Yossi Benayoun, who is will return to his parent club Chelsea at the end of the season, Wenger is keeping his options open by monitoring Ljajic. – DAG
20 April (Daily Mirror) Various reports including this from the Mirror are speculating that Arsenal are watching Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. The report says the 22-year-old France Under-21 international is a capable of playing anywhere across the back line or as a defensive midfielder, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking to bolster his defensive options. - DAG
20 April (Daily Express) Chelsea are reportedly chasing Arsenal winger Theo Walcott. The Daily Express says Blues owner Roman Abramovich and technical chief Michael Emenalo are determined to drive down the average of the squad.Emenalo has a shortlist of potential transfer targets, all aged 26 or under with Walcott being one of the marquee signings they are hoping to attract. - DAG
18 April (AS) A fee of around £2m is believed to be what it will take for us to part company with Vela, after failing to impress in the Premier League. Real Sociedad are favourites to sign him, as he is currently on loan there having a good season. - MJB
18 April (TalkSport) Arsenal have reportedly renewed interest in Inter Milan winger Ricardo “Ricky” Alvarez. We missed out on him last summer because Inter offered £1.7m extra and we weren’t prepared to pay that much. However, I don’t think we’re in need of another winger. – MJB
17 April (Gazzetta) Hernanes has emerged as a target for the Gunners recently but Anzhi are also keen on making a move for the Lazio man. The 26-year old Brazilian midfielder has apparently told his club to reject bids from Anzhi and choose the Gunners instead, should the two sides make a bid. – MJB
16 April (ESPN) The Japanese international Kaisuke Kagawa has been stalling on contract talks and has attracted interest from Arsenal, amongst other Premier League clubs, believed to be Liverpool and Man Utd.
“We want to keep him and extend his contract. He wants to go to England? I don’t know, but I keep hearing things in the press,” said Watzke, the Dortmund chief. – MJB
15 April (The Star) Sunderland will “resist” Arsenal’s attempts to sign Sessegnon in the summer as they look to strengthen the squad.

4 April (Mail) Arsene Wenger is said to be laying the groundwork for a deal for Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud. The Daily Mail says Wenger has instructed chief French scout Gilles Grimandi to compile a dossier on Giroud. Grimandi will report back to Wenger with his assessment on the 25-year-old centre forward towards the end of the current campaign. – DAG
4 April (Mirror) Marcel Desailly reckons Arsenal should go all out to sign perennial target Yann M’Vila – because he will be better than Patrick Vieira. “I would just say that if I was the chairman of a Premier League club I would just close my eyes and put the figure on the cheque to get him,” Desailly told Goal.com. “Because he is really the future. 4 April (Mirror) Arsenal are set to rival PSG in a bidding war for Sunderland dynamo Stephane Sessegnon. 2 April (Gazzetta Dello Sport) AC Milan midfielder Stephan El Shaarawy is reportedly gaining some interest at Arsenal. Gazzetta dello Sport says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been impressed by El Shaarawy’s progress this season and is exploring the prospect of luring him to London in the summer. – DAG
2 April (Mirror) With the capture of German Lukas Podolski done, Arsenal are reportedly turning their attention to Rennes Midfielder Yann M’Villa. Yann has been a constant link with the Gunners over the last few seasons and it looks like this summer they intend to bag their man. It is a move that would be welcome by the French international - ”If it is Wenger who asks you and wants you then of course that changes things.” – DAG
29 March (Sovetsky Sport) The Russian Sports paper caught up with Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin, currently on loan at Zenit St. Petersbug. The russian star has told the paper he does not anticipate being sold and that news of him on the transfer sale list is news to him. - DAG
28 March (Mail) Chelsea attacker Danny Sturridge has come out as a surprise target for Arsenal. The Daily Mail says Sturridge has been mentioned by Wenger discussing targets with directors. 28 March (Mail) The Daily Mail says Real Sociedad will step up their efforts to sign Carlos Vela over the next week ahead of competition from rival Spanish clubs. Vela, has impressed during his loan spell at the Basque club and Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay will visit England for talks with Arsenal over a potential £3.5million deal. – DAG

28 March (Daily Express) Juventus are reportedly interested in Arsenal defender Johan Djourou. Djourou has emerged as a surprise summer transfer target of the Italian club. 27 March (Telegraph) The Telegraph says Arsenal have Anderlecht captain Lucas Biglia lined up as an alternative to Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila. 29 Feb 2012 (Reuters) Our big-headed Dane has said he would consider a move to the Russian league, when proposed, he said “In football you can never say never”. Probably for a pay-packet as big as his ego, being as £52,000 a week we’re reportedly spending on him isn’t enough.
Bendtner had this to say: “There are many strong players that have been taken to Russia. Players of a profile who have not previously done so. I’m loaned out at the moment, but I will consider my options when the time comes. – MJB
