Arsenal looking to get rid of Aubameyang and potentially replace with Vlahovic

If reports are anything to go by, then it would seem that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future as an Arsenal player is all but over.

A recent article by The Daily Mail‘s Sportsmail has become even more uncertain following the club’s decision to strip him of the captaincy as it has been claimed that he has been offered to some of the top teams in Europe as a player who would be available to leave this January.

Of course, it could be rather difficult to see a move happen over the course of the month, though, as there are a number of factors that would have to be considered by teams that may be interested in signing the forward.

For instance, whilst many may not be logging onto Free Bets UK and finding the best betting offers to use on Gabon, he will be representing his nation in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament this January, which means he could be unavailable to play until February.

Another potential stumbling block that could be faced would be in regard to his wages, with Aubameyang believed to be on an alleged £350,000-per-week wage; a financial outlay not many teams would be able to match, or even be willing to, either. Moreover, there may be some who doubt the 32-year-old’s image and disciplinary record recently, which could also lead to further obstacles.

Interestingly, the media outlet has also highlighted that both Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are set to leave the club, as well.

Nonetheless, it would seem the Gunners are already looking to make moves to replace him, with reports emerging from Italy claiming that one of the top strikers in Serie A is already the subject of an offer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal have reportedly made a player-plus-cash offer for Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic, with the Premier League side said to have offered the Italians £46million plus Lucas Torreira for the Serbian striker.

Torreira, 25, is already on loan with La Viola and has made 17 appearances this season, thus potentially suggesting the Serie A side could be tempted in some way.

It is hardly a surprise that Vlahovic is on the Gunners’ radar, as the forward has managed 18 goals in 22 games so far this season. With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah’s contracts set to expire in the summer, and Aubameyang clearly on the naughty step, Arsenal will want to act quickly and make sure they get a striker that can help them to achieve their aims.
