Arsenal submit opening Gabriel Jesus offer to Man City

Gabriel Jesus arrived in England to play for Manchester City in January of 2018 as a part of a winter transfer deal.

He left Palmeiras to join the Cityzens, and since then Jesus has been a fantastic buy for the Manchester club. In the 4 and half years’ time playing for City, Jesus has definitely left a mark.

He scored a late, late winner to secure 100 points for Man City on the final match-day of the 2017/18 season. He scored 4 just the other day against Watford and has also been responsible for scoring crucial goals on the European stage.

In 234 appearances for Manchester City, Jesus has bagged an impressive tally of 95 goals and 46 assists, but now it might to time to close the City chapter!

Lack of game time and new incomings for Manchester City like Haaland and Alvarez means the best option for the Brazilian would be to take his skills somewhere else.

And apparently, the ex-man city assistant manager who worked closely with the young forward wants him at Arsenal!

North London Calling

Mikel Arteta has shown the desire to work with Jesus again and integrate him into his Arsenal plans. Arteta thinks Jesus is the right kind of player that will elevate his arsenal side.

So, to convert that desire into reality, Arsenal has lodged an opening offer as they attempt to lure Gabriel Jesus to north London.

Jesus has multiple suitors, but the Gunners have launched a proposal of about £51 million (€60 million) for the Brazilian, according to reports.

Arsenal is looking for extra firepower, and Jesus has proven himself in the Premier League as mentioned before, and Mikel Arteta expressed his interest in the player to the Emirates chief Edu, who has acted on his request.

Man City got their bet right with buying Jesus and Arsenal will be hoping for the same outcome, but if you want to stand a chance in getting ‘your’ sporting bets right as well, check out free bets to choose from a wide range of sports betting sites that are available!

We would definitely put our money on Arsenal succeeding with a competent striker, and Mikel Arteta is also thinking along the same lines!

Speaking to Sky Sports, Arteta said:

“He puts the ball in the net – that’s priority number one. Goal threat. Any successful team needs enough goal threat in the squad. Without it, you have nothing. You can play good football, but you need enough goal threat in the team. The other thing is that he has to complement the other people we have, personally and on the pitch. We need the right profile.”

As mentioned before, City is seeking a sum closer to £51 million (€60 million), but Arsenal has opened the bidding in order to win the fight for his signing.

According to Jesus’ agent, Marcelo Pettinati, the English club is only one of seven clubs interested in signing the Brazilian.

He said: “We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project – it’s a possibility we’re discussing. There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel – he’s focused on final games with Man City, we’ll see”.

There is also a theory out there that Gabriel Jesus believes that the Gunners will give him more opportunities to play as a striker, giving him a golden opportunity to impress Brazil coach Tite and hopefully seal his position on the trip to the Qatar World Cup in November of this year.

Add to that his old connection with Arteta and you could see why Jesus and Arsenal make so much sense.

Jesus playing for the Gunners and thriving under Arteta would be a good storyline to unfold for the next season in the Premier League!
