Arsenal to sign Kerem Demirbay this summer?

As we get closer to the summer, the news of transfer possibilities and new signings in the Premier League have already started circulating. Media outlets have been hinting that Arsenal are set to sign Kerem Demirbay who is a top player on the German international team.

Here, we are going to look at what this means for Arsenal and explore why they might have their sights set on him. Keep reading to find out more.

Who Is Kerem Demirbay?

Kerem Demirbay is a German professional footballer who is currently a midfielder for 1899 Hoffenheim. This player has shown great promise and has played for famous teams such as Borussia Dortmund and internationally for Turkey as a youth and for Germany as a senior player in a 2018 World Cup qualification match.

Kerem Demirbay is a good midfielder and has managed to get a few goals under his belt both internationally and for his clubs. This could be why Arsenal are keen on signing him this summer.

Who Are They Replacing?

Arsenal fans might be wondering who Demirbay will be replacing when he eventually does get signed by the club this summer as the players on the squad are all very valuable. In this case, Kerem Demirbay would be replacing Aaron Ramsey who is set to transfer to Juventus in the near future.

In February, Ramsey signed a four-year contract to play for Juventus. While he isn’t set to leave until July 2019, football pundits are sure that Demirbay will be stepping in as his replacement. If you were interested in sports betting and wanted to place a bet on the latest signing, we would say that this is a very safe one to make.

How Much Will It Cost?

The total cost of signing Demirbay is not yet clear but there is an obstacle in the way for Arsenal who are looking to sign him. This player has a £22 million fee attached to him due to a release clause that was written into his contract with Hoffenheim. German news outlet Bild has already made claims that Arsenal have been in contact with the bosses at Hoffenheim and that they are willing to meet the terms of this release clause.

While this fee might have put other teams off, it is clear that Arsenal are keen on signing this player and are willing to do what it takes to get him onto the squad when the summer transfers roll around.

Final Verdict

Arsenal have had a reasonable season so far, but they haven’t seen themselves at the top of the league. With a new season coming up and the potential for new players like Demirbay to join the squad, it is possible that they will do even better next season. Make sure to keep an eye on the transfers as you will be sure to see this player being signed by Arsenal in the coming months. For those interested in placing a bet, we would suggest that this is a pretty safe one to make.
