Former club player believes Arsenal should look to sell Hector Bellerin

Former Arsenal player, Kevin Campbell, has suggested that selling Hector Bellerin could be deemed “good business” for his ex-club.
Although Bellerin has been at the club since 2013, he Spaniard has continued to split opinions with some of his performances. The left-back has already managed to amass over 220 appearances for the Gunners across various competitions that the club have been involved in over the last seven years, having had a hand in over 35 goal contributions.
The 25-year-old has also been rather successful since being at the club, as he has managed to win the FA Cup on three occasions, including last season’s edition of the tournament when they managed to defeat London rivals, Chelsea.
However, consistency has been a big issue in regards to Bellerin’s game, whilst there have been a number of fitness issues throughout his Arsenal career that has seen his career not progress as others may have initially hoped for.
Many of the club’s supporters have been frustrated with his performances this season as well, whilst he has also made numerous foul throws in various fixtures this season. He did, however, put in a solid performance against Chelsea, though, which will take the criticism away from him for a little while. Indeed, some of his displays have made it hard for bettors to make the right free football predictions at times, as well.
Nonetheless, with the January transfer window fast approaching, Kevin Campbell feels it could be the perfect opportunity to move him on if they were to receive an offer for him, whilst suggesting that Ainsley Maitland-Niles is more deserving of the starting right-back spot in Mikel Arteta’s team.
“Bellerin, by his own admission, has not been ripping trees up. He was getting exposed at times,” the former Gunners striker told Football Insider. “Maitland-Niles really sured up the right-hand side when he came in earlier this month. The performances were a lot more solid, especially on that right-hand side.
“There is a question to be asked of Bellerin and a lot of fans are asking it. Will the club sell him?
“There is rumours of Barcelona’s interest. It is his boyhood club, the club he loves and maybe that would be a good bit of business.”
Unfortunately for Bellerin, Campbell is not the only former Gunner to have taken issue with the Spaniard, as Tony Adams singled him out as a player who needs to “learn to be a good defender”.
