Every sport has a rotten egg here and there but it takes a true spirit of defiance to build up bad reputations like our most adored players of Arsenal. Even though they have managed to land themselves on Santa’s naughty list, we still appreciate their unabashed attitudes and how they simply own it. As bad as their reps may seem, they are still key players for Arsenal and we can’t say we are any less of fans for it. Here are some of the bad boys Arsenal has seen.

Nicklas Bendtner

Tony Adams

Although Tony Adams is admired by all in 2019, it wasn’t very long ago where his future was unsure. Back in the 1980’s the Arsenal captain was caught for drinking and driving four times and eventually arrested and sentenced to four months behind bars. The career-changing moment was both embarrassing and humiliating for the pro player and could have very well been why he changed his life around.

The Arsenal player had a bad reputation for stomping on players and even threw water over a ref in his gaming career. He had a reputation for having a short temper an even had arguments with his own teammates. The very last stint involved the professional footballer being kicked off the field during the Champions League final in 2006, making him the first ever goalkeeper to have been sent off the field during one of the biggest matches the world has ever seen.

Although Arsenal and Liverpool have seen some pretty bad boys in the past, they are all kind of lightweight if you compare their reps to the reputations of other famous star players. In fact, there has been one who was sued for tax evasion of over $37 million, another was involved in the kidnapping of Pablo Escobar and another spat on an 11-year-old fan. Needless to say, the above mentioned moral crimes aren’t nearly as bad as spitting on an innocent child. So yes, we can live without team’s faults and applaud the fact that they are so minor, making their bad reputations not half as bad as they are.
