After Arsene Wenger left his role as manager, the team was thrown into the market to look for a coach to fill in the shoes left behind by Wenger. They went for Unai Emery, but after a couple of years, the team had to let go of Emery because it didn’t seem like the team would improve as they were not doing better than before.

After Emery, it wasn’t sure who would take the mantle, but after a while, Mikel Arteta was hired in 2019 to help the team and start the rebuild. Thanks to Arteta, some Arsenal players are already gearing up to be part of the FIFA World Cup 2022 schedule, and we see a change in the team.

With Arteta at the helm, the team has become different and playing better. Although it is still a young squad with many players developing, the build for the future is becoming evident under Arteta. However, there are still some people who think it might not work out for the team.

Arteta and Arsenal would be looking to build a formidable team that can compete for many years and maybe get them back to the top. One of the team’s primary objectives would be to win the English Premier League and the UCL. It might still take some time, but it is a possibility.

Arteta’s Experience

Mikel Arteta didn’t have prior experience before he joined the coaching staff in Manchester City. However, working alongside Pep Guardiola helped him improve his coaching skills. As a result, Arteta became one of the most reliable members of the staff team, and he even took management of the team.

We saw how he handled the team in Pep’s absence, which worked well for the team. Therefore, one could tell that Arteta was learning fast and was on his way to becoming a top manager. With his experience from Manchester City, Arsenal felt he was the right man for the job, and finally, they went for him.

In his first season, Arteta’s job was to stabilize the team and give them leverage for the next season. It got better from there as they went on to sign more players into the team. Undoubtedly, we could tell that the team was getting better, and they would become a more coordinated team after a while.

Arteta, Pep Guardiola, and Manchester City

After Arteta resigned from playing professional football, he set out to become a manager, but he didn’t start by coaching a team on his own. He decided to work under Pep Guardiola in Manchester City, who was looking to create a formidable team. And thanks to the financial backing, the push was easy.

He started understudying Pep Guardiola, and for a couple of seasons, Arteta kept pushing and learning about the workings and how to run a team. In some games, we saw Pep and Arteta exchanging ideas during the matches. It was an incredible experience that showed that he was ready for something else.

Undoubtedly, the experience Arteta gained under Pep cannot be understated because he was able to see exciting tactics that the players used. It was an exciting journey, where he was part of the staff that won the English Premier League title. He has the experience needed to handle his team.

Coaching Arsenal and Winning the FA Cup

After learning under Pep Guardiola, Arteta took the opportunity of the vacancy at Arsenal to start his coaching career. It was a time when teams were hiring their legends. For instance, Chelsea just gave Lampard a coaching job, and Manchester United gave Ole Gunnar Solkjaer his long-term job.

It was a perfect fit. The first season was great for Arteta as the team went to the FA Cup final. The team faced Lampard’s Chelsea, and they ended up winning the competition, launching Arteta’s coaching career. The only problem that season was that the team failed to qualify for the European championships.

Fortunately, after a few seasons, Arsenal is back in Europe, and now they can chase their dream of winning a European title. It would take some time for the team, but we can see the progress in the team. It is getting better for the players and the overall team. They can go on to win more trophies.

Our Thoughts

Mikel Arteta has given hope to the fans as we can all see evidence of progress in the team. It might still take some time for the team to get to where they can be winning multiple trophies, but it is possible. We look forward to what is to come from the Arsenal and Arteta partnership as the owners have decided to back the team and get him the players he wants to work with.
