There has been a lot of news heading out of Arsenal recently, therefore it is certainly worth taking a look at all the latest ongoings surrounding the Gunners.
Premier League latest
Of course, many of the club’s faithful will have been keeping a close eye on the race for the Premier League title this season, especially as the Gunners could be about to end a drought of almost 20 years ago! Mikel Arteta’s side currently occupy top spot in the division and will be looking to continue to go head-and-toe with their rivals to ensure they remain there once all 38 games have been played.
Arsenal managed to get all three points in their last match by the skin of their teeth; no-one should be fooled by the 4-2 scoreline that was recorded at Villa Park against Aston Villa. Nonetheless, winning is what matters, and that is something those in the red part of north London have started to enjoy once again!
Bukayo Saka’s contract situation
It appears that there is some positive news on the horizon regarding star Bukayo Saka’s future at the club. While everyone knows that the 21-year-old bleeds Arsenal, there has been concern about where he might be going as his contract was fast approaching its conclusion.
Now, while everyone appears to have had enough of putting on a poker face during negotiations after perhaps learning and using a GGPoker Bonus Code, it seems there has been a breakthrough and a number of developments in recent times.
According to a report by Sky Sports, the England international winger appears to be close to putting pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal. No duration has been revealed, but with it known that the club wants him to be part of their long-term future, it really would not be a surprise if we were to see him sign a similar deal to the one which Gabriel Martinelli recently signed; a deal that will keep the Brazilian at the Emirates Stadium until 2027.
Arsenal set to face Sporting Lisbon
While everyone appears to be going well domestically, the Gunners have finally been able to learn who their next opponents will be on the European front.
The draw was recently made and has put Arsenal against Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Europa League’s Round of 16 draw. The club will be given the opportunity to try and obtain an away goal advantage as they will head to Portugal in the first leg of the tie, before returning to north London a week later for the reverse fixture. These games are set to be played on March 9 and 16, as per the BBC Sport website.
