Dani Ceballos has revealed that it is likely that he will make a return to Real Madrid at the end of his loan spell with Arsenal.

The Spain international is currently in his second loan spell with the Gunners and has had a rather successive time for the north London outfit during his time at the Emirates Stadium. Indeed, the midfielder has managed to win the FA Cup under Mikel Arteta.

However, when questioned by Cadena SER about a number of different topics including his future and where he saw himself playing, he told the Spanish radio station some potentially disappointing news for Arsenal fans all around the world. However, those that like to gamble can see their spirits raised as these American casinos take UK players, therefore providing them with something to get over their disappointment in Ceballos’ comments.

He revealed that he has aims of returning to Real Madrid in the future and believes Los Blancos are the “best club in the world”. He also mentioned that he would like to return to Real Betis at some point in his career due to the affection he has with the supporters. However, there was no mention of the Gunners.

“My goal one day is to return to Real Madrid and be important in the best club in the world,” he said.

Some of the other topics Ceballos was asked about included the altercation with David Luiz – something that he has since described as a “collision”, whilst he also gave a glowing review about Mikel Arteta and how he believes he suits the style of play used in the Premier League.

“Mikel is a coach who suits me like a glove because he played in the same position as me. He wants us to play forward when we steal [the ball]”, he said.

“The Premier League is a bit below at a tactical level but it is more physical. The position of 8 is the one that suits me best.”

Indeed, the 24-year-old has been a crucial component for Arteta’s side and despite a rather poor season for the most part, Ceballos has helped to turn things around over the festive period as Arsenal continue to build on the number of wins they have managed to achieve.

The Spain international has managed to make 23 appearances for the Gunners so far this season across all competitions, providing just one assist. However, his defensive work should not go unnoticed as he contributes with an average of 1.3 tackles and 1.4 interceptions in those fixtures (as per WhoScored).
