Arsenal may be on a 10-game unbeaten streak across all competitions at the moment, however Mikel Arteta’s side will meet one of their toughest opponents since the last time they suffered defeat.

Let’s not take anything away from the Gunners over the last couple of months, as the team has managed to quickly climb the Premier League table and secure 20 points since their awful start to the season, including impressive victories against Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City.

However, we all know that the Emirates Stadium outfit appears to have an issue when they go up against the biggest teams in the league. Disregard the loss to Brentford to one side for a moment given the circumstances around it, Arsenal failed to obtain anything from Chelsea or Manchester City in the next two games.

They are yet to face another team within that bracket, and with a trip to Anfield awaiting them in Saturday’s final fixture, there are not many that are giving the side a chance in being able to secure anything from the game.

Despite the fact that the Londoners are only two points behind them at the moment in the table, Betway Sportsbook has priced Liverpool as 19/40 overwhelming favourites to pick up the three points on the day when the two sides clash on Merseyside.

There is no doubt that Arsenal would need to be at their very best in order to even come away from a draw, but there will be many that will like the club’s chances given their recent form.

However, the Reds will have been patiently waiting to get back to Premier League action as they were on the wrong end of a 3-2 shock defeat to West Ham United and lost some pace in the race for the title as Manchester City and Chelsea both picked up points.

Whilst many of Jurgen Klopp’s side will have gone off to represent their countries in various corners of the world, you can guarantee that everyone connected with Liverpool will have been focusing on putting the defeat right and making an example of any team that gets in their way.

The Liverpool vs Arsenal encounter is arguably the clash of the weekend, with no other match being played featuring two of the biggest teams in the league currently, therefore all the ingredients are present to ensure that this spectacle is one that is worth watching.

Hopefully, for Arsenal, it is one that can be rather enjoyable.
