Although there were a number of moments in the match against Manchester City that left a sour taste, many of those were not about the way in which the Arsenal team performed over the 90 minutes.

Of course, a number of arguments could be made regarding certain individuals and the decisions that they took which gave the referee and VAR the opportunity to make a decision themselves, however there is no denying that the team managed to put together a solid display and one many would have been proud of.

Naturally, many would have been taking a look at Bet360.net ahead of the FA Cup encounter with Nottingham Forest in order to get the very best sports betting information that they could, as well as finding the best bonus offers available as many would have guaranteed progression to the fourth round, right?

Embarrassingly, that did not happen and Arsenal were sent back to the Emirates Stadium after suffering one of the round’s biggest humiliations. Mikel Arteta lamented the defeat and stated that he “didn’t want to use excuses” and that the team needed to apologise for that what had happened.

Now, whilst it will be a result that will be incredibly hard to forget, the team must move on and do so quickly, as they have an opportunity to still win silverware this season.

Nonetheless, they will be going up against a side in Liverpool who will also be looking to try and win the prize in their rescheduled match. The game will have come at a perfect time for the Gunners in regards to the fact that the Reds will be without the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, but it seems the game will also be rather challenging as other players might just have to miss out for Arsenal.

Arteta spoke after the shock defeat and revealed that he did not know whether some of his key players would be available for the trip to Anfield on Thursday.

Emile Smith Rowe had missed the FA Cup game with a groin injury, whilst the ever-present Takehiro Tomiyasu had been dealing with a calf injury. Granit Xhaka had returned a positive test.

“I do not know. It will depend in the next few days how he is feeling,” Arteta told the press about Xhaka’s status for the Liverpool fixture.

He added on the other casualties Arsenal are dealing with: “Again, it depends how they evolve. They were injured. We have to see in the next few days how they are.”
