William Saliba’s recent performance shows he can do job for Arsenal

There will not be many that will ever understand Arsenal’s use and decision-making in regards to William Saliba and it seems those who would have been critical about it will have been proven right in the defender’s most recent outing.
Currently on loan at Olympique de Marseille, the £27 million signing in 2020 from Saint-Etienne was playing against his former club in a French Ligue 1 match in which he helped his current team to win 3-1.
Yet to play a single first-team game for Mikel Arteta’s side after having spent the second half of last season on loan at Nice, the 20-year-old has perhaps shown that he could do a job in the middle of the defence for the Gunners and arguably a lot better than some of those who have been tasked with the challenge at the moment.
Admittedly, key individuals such as Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes are both unavailable at the moment, but Saliba would certainly have provided excellent cover during this time and could have potentially helped the club in conceding fewer than the nine Premier League goals that they have conceded so far, which may have helped out those bettors who are using sportskokladenje24.com for all of their betting needs and perhaps wagering on the goals conceded.
Ahead of his loan to Marseille, many of the Emirates Stadium faithful had called for him to stay and those who watched him go up against his former club over the weekend will be vehemently frustrated that he is not wearing the red for them this season.
His loan spell has started promisingly well and the 20-year-old looks to be a solid defender, as Planet Football has highlighted five of the stats from his display that had impressed them and would have impressed Arsenal fans.
– Saliba completed one tackle, one interception, five clearances and four recoveries at the Stade Velodrome.
– The 20-year-old won eight of his 10 ground duels against his former club and also made zero errors leading to shots
– Despite knowing Saliba pretty well, the Saint-Etienne players weren’t able to dribble past him during the game.
– He also showcased his excellent ability on the ball, recording a 95.9% pass accuracy and making two successful long balls.
– The defender likes to bring the ball out from the back and was successful with all six of his dribbles against Saint-Etienne.
There is certainly plenty to get excited about regarding Saliba’s future and potential, but who cares about that for now when he is desperately needed in north London right now!
