YAMACast S2E15 – the one where we are celebrating!!

We’re back and damn are we happy!! We’re happy to be back of course but more than that we’re happy  because it’s over, the 9 year drought is over. Arsenal have a nice shiny piece of silverware to feature adoringly in that trophy cabinet.

It wasn’t easy and it shouldn’t have been. Arsenal had to fight for it and earn it and for about 15 minutes  on Saturday it seemed like it wasn’t going to happen.

Much like this season, the fight for a trophy looked like it could slip out our grasp as a very hungry Hull,  came to play. In the end , the class, skill and talent of the Arsenal players took over the match and in the  end were deserved winners – much to the chagrin of the press and opposition supporters.

We are the 2014 FA Cup Champions. It’s winning, it’s tangible and there is something to be had. There is  no innocuous pat on the back for success, there is a real end result with something to point to. And if  that doesn’t make you happy, nothing will.

Arsenal are once again winners. They sit upon the precipice of what we all hope is the burgeoning new  era of achievement. With a solid core of players and only the need to tweak the roster, Arsenal look well  set up to challenge for honours once again.

And that’s why we rejoice. We’ve lived through these 9 barren years, each year with hope but ending  with a shrug of the shoulders for the modest achievement of Champion’s League football. Now, though,  it’s not an imaginary win, its real and it’s better than anything the other teams around us, save for  Manchester City have.

I’d not switch our season for what Liverpool or Chelsea ended up with. I’d take this any time of the week.

And this happiness, this joy and positivity are the theme of this episode of the podcast. And we’ve got a  great lineup for you. We’ve got two of the best. First up is none other than Geoff (@GeoffArsenal) IF you  don’t follow Geoff on twitter you are a rarity. Geoff is well respected within the Arsenal community and  is clued in to the club and what they tend to do with transfers. Geoff and I talk about the successful  season that just wrapped up and go into some of the moves that Arsenal may be looking at.

Following Geoff is my go to guy. The man I turn to when I need to get a guest with a solid opinion and  insight. It’s none other than Elliot better known as the YankeeGunner (@YankeeGunner). Elliott and I go  over the whole season what was great and not so great and whether or not it should be classified a  success (YES IT SHOULD.) We look at where we are and where we are going and make some bold  predictions for the coming season.

All in all a good solid discussion. Get some popcorn because me and the boys just chat and we ignore  the clock. So I hope you enjoy this edition. My apologies for those who kept asking for us to come back. We just needed to find out mojo again.

Enjoy and stay Goonerish!!
